Tune in Tuesday! June 12, 2012

Can you feel it? Summer is officially here! With the weather gradually getting hotter and hotter, so is the music. This week I've found some songs that will sure to be hot summer hits...Let's begin.

You may have heard her starting to circulate the US airways this week with "Primadonna". The UK sensation that is Marina and the Diamonds is just enough pop mixed in with Dance to get you moving...

Keeping with that Dance music influence is Jay Sean with "I'm all Yours". Plus dancing on a yacht video is so summer? No?

You might know her from The Vampire Diaries, but Kat Graham comes out with a new single that is quickly climbing the charts. "Put your Graffiti on me" has a catchy TAG line...

Country songs remind me of summer...something about hanging out on the porch enjoying the day...One girl climbing up the country charts is Jana Kramer with "Why you Wanna"

And Finally, I just like this song...Gemini "Fire Inside"

So Which is your favorite this week?

I love this City!! Laidback Luke, David Guetta and TIESTO!!

When I Love This City came to town, I was more than excited to see a lot of great Dj's in one line up. It did not disappoint. While there was some gripes and grumbling about the venue change, the show itself was spectacular. My argument always was, that regardless of the venue, great dj's like Tiesto, David Guetta, and Steve Aoki were still going to be there. For those of you that chose not to go because of that reason? Well all I can say is you missed out. Tiesto was AMAZING! With some of the most amazing video graphics ever. I was mesmerized. Guetta had everybody on their feet!!! Laidback Luke was fiesty and playful, while Madeon showed us why at 17 years old, he'll be one to keep a very close eye on. Take a look of some of the amazing shots of the night...

Be sure to check out more amazing photos on eventvibe.com in the meantime here is a video of me jumping around having an amazing time!!

Tune in Tuesday!! June 5, 2012

This week's Tune in Tuesday, has me dancing at my desk and secretly wishing I was dancing the night away somewhere.  Let's begin...

She's been out of the scene for a little while, but boy am I glad she's back! Nelly Furtado comes back strong with "Big Hoops"

Next, their first single is still high on the charts, The Wanted's second single is sure to as well. It's "Chasing the Sun"

Usher can do no wrong, but this single has got such a great dance beat, you can't help but sing ooh baby baby! It's "Scream"

You might not know who Kerli is YET..but her single "zero gravity" is climbing the dance
track charts fast.

Finally is my favorite girl... Will this be her next #1? This lyric video has got to be the coolest one I've ever seen, it's Katy Perry with "Wide Awake"

So tell me...Which is your favorite this week?

Tune in Tuesday! May 22, 2012 I Love this City!!

This week's Tune in Tuesday is a special one, and it will be a long one, as I LOVE THIS CITY Festival tour makes its way to the bay area this coming weekend.  Featuring some of the best and hottest EDM Dj's there is. Here is my compilation of the not to be missed. Let's Begin....

First up is the female Duo group Nervo. As a female, I can't help but love and support my fellow ladies. Nervo is on the main stage Friday 3:45-4:35. One of my favorite compilations with Afrojack and Steve Aoki, (two other dj's who will later grace the same stage) "We're all no one"

If you are fan of dubsteb mixed in with some hip hop, no one does it better than Araabmuzik. On the  Bass Stage from 4:25-5:25pm on Friday.

Performing right before is Sofi from 3:55 -4:20 on the Bass stage. If you are a deadmau5 fan, you will recognize Sofi in his debut "Sofi needs a ladder"

Next is the wild and amazing Steve Aoki. If you've never seen Steve Live you are in for something special. Aoki has got energy that's infectious...you will be dancing...

Next is Sebastian Ingrosso, 1/3 of super DJ group Swedish House Mafia, a producer and  has his own record label, make sure not to miss him on Friday on the main stage from 9:00-10:00pm.

Headling on Friday is Afrojack from 10:10-11:25pm on the main stage. Dutch born DJ best known for "take over control" and of course being boyfriend to Paris Hilton.

On the Park Stage is Shit Robot from 9:55-10:55pm...I just can't get this song out of my head, with its hypnotic soft beat.

On Saturday I highly suggest checking out Madeon on the main stage from 6:10-7:10pm....a dj who really didn't propel into fame until his youtube video went viral.....

Laidback Luke is slowly making his way into the DJ Top 10 list. Catch him on the main stage from 7:15pm-8:15 pm

Next is the man who needs no introduction. Tiesto performing right after on the main stage from  8:20pm- 9:50pm. I only wish he was closing.

Who is closing on the main stage is David Guetta. Say what you will about him, but I do credit David Guetta for introducing dance music to a mass of people who would have never otherwise known what dance music was all about. You have to agree that Dance music is too great to keep to oneself.

So who can you not wait to see? If you still need tickets you can find them on I Love This City's webpage.

It's getting Hot in here! Molly checks out The Firehouse..

This week we decided to turn up the heat a little, so we headed out to The Firehouse in Sunnyvale.

The Place:   111 S Murphy Ave. Sunnyvale, CA 94086

The Hours:    Monday - Friday  4:00pm-7:00pm

Bang for your Buck:  $3 pints or $12 Pitchers, $4 well drinks and $5 appetizers

The Digs:  Large two story building, with a large bar area and large outdoor patio

The Crew: Molly, Mr. "M" and DJ FeLNLove

We arrived at 5:00 on the dot and was immediately pleased that this place was large. We sat down at table near the bar. However, as we found a table, we noticed it was slightly empty, but this would all change later. They have large giant flat panel TVs everywhere, playing every single sport imaginable. Definitely a great place to catch a game.

As we found the Happy Hour menu we nearly did somersaults...$12 dollar pints?? Yes! We ordered one of those, buffalo wings, and mozzarella sticks.

As it turns out Lolly is actually from Buffalo NY, so who better to critique Buffalo wings than her?

Lolly:      The actual wing, as in the chicken was great. The sauce? Not so much. I don't know what it is with places other than Buffalo and Buffalo wings. Yes, it should be spicy but it should also be flavorful and saucy. What's with dry wings? Also, blue cheese is a staple with Buffalo wings, not ranch. It's also a sauce, not a dressing so it should be chunky. Fail on the Buffalo wings.
MonicaI have a low tolerance for spice, so the fact that I don't find these spicy at all may be a problem for some. For me? They are alright
Mr. "M":  Doesn't say much just nods in agreement

Next were the mozzarella sticks:

Lolly:   These were quite tasty. My only gripe is they don't come with a lot of sauce. I love my sauce!.
Monica: This is one of those things that you can't really mess up for me, I agree they are good.

It's about 5:45 when DJ FelNLove joins our party. We notice that the place has picked up quite a bit. Most tables are now occupied and the bar is filling up.

Our celebrity guest "Felicia" as we call her, hasn't seen us in a while and so there was lots to catch up on. She ordered the Ceviche which she found pretty good. It was quite appropriate that the beer banter for the day revolved around LOVE...and the ultimate question of whether relationships were meant to last forever?

Appropriately, this came up...

Monica:  Do you think Kris Humprhies looks at Kayne with Envy or Pity?
Lolly:   Hard to say without knowing the dude, but I say pity. Only because I pity anyone who has to deal with those Crazy K's! Except Khloe, she's my home girl ;)

Lolly:  On that note … How much does a person's family affect your dating them? I mean… if you're really into someone but their family doesn't like you, is that a big issue?
Monica: Only if your a Kardashian, or a Spears, or a Lohan…speaking of what is going on with Lindsay Lohan's face? I feel like she got the crap kicked out of her but the swelling in her face never went down.

Lolly:  Oh Lilo. I don't know, I always hold out hope for that girl.
Monica: Just don't hold your breath...

HOT Factor: On a scale of 5? Smokin'! The waitresses here wear teeny tiny plaid school girl skirts and Lolly and I will never say this is a bad outfit choice ;) More importantly, they are all pretty. Our waitress Jasmine was a tall drink of water and her friends weren't bad either. ( NO girl on girl hate here, we call it like it is ) Think of firehouse as a slight step up from your local hooters. We'll take school house rock over orange shorts any day.

The Verdict:  Molly gives The Firehouse 4 beers out of 5. We Would absolutely come here again! Not only was the atmosphere great, the waitresses were cute, the food was decent, the crowd was good, and they had good beer brewed in house.  On top of all that we had 3 pitchers of beer, 3 appetizers and the bill was only $54 between 4 people! That's just amaze balls!

Join us today as we hit up the Old Pro in Palo Alto....

See you at Happy Hour,

Tune in Tuesday!! May 15, 2012

As a put together this week's post, I notice yet another theme. Perhaps I'm feeling sexy this week? Either way all these ladies are HOT, HOT, HOT. Sexy in their own ways, let's start this week's Tune in Tuesday!

I find her to be one of the sexiest women on the planet, time after time, Shakira shows us with our eyes and our ears how to get that booty moving...Her single "Addicted to You" is climbing fast on the Latin charts. On a side note, I'm lovin' the short hair! and this is in Spanish because Shakira to me is always in Spanish ;)

Next up is a lady who needs no explanation of the word Sexy....It's Rhianna with "Where Have you Been?"

This young lady is only 18 years old, is a UK sensation and an X Factor Prodigy. On my short trip to the UK she was everywhere, and if history teaches us anything (Leona Lewis, One Direction) she will become a US sensation soon. With her very own Swagger, it's Cheryl Loyd with  "Want You Back"

Next you know her for wanting "Take Over Control", but now she wants to let you know that "I don't like you"

Finally I leave you with Tiesto Ft. Kay Work Hard Play Hard (Paris FZ &Simo T Remix) for all my ladies who work hard every week...you can play hard too ;)

Which is your new favorite?
